I know the feeling! Their view of the universe is basically mechanistic – and thus actually out of touch with current scientific advances. But it is useful to oligarchs for keeping (or trying to keep) people in intellectual boxes. While they, or at least some of them, dabble in what can only be called the “dark arts”.

Two days ago a house blew up in Firestone, CO, two died. Anadarko the oil company is shutting down 3000 wells. All the wells in the area are about 25 years old. A different company drilled those wells. Of course no one will be guilty in the end.
