I read that book and it reminded me of my own owl encounter. Bit of an involved story, but what was strange was that the next day my neighbor told me that she had seen an owl perched on the roof of my car. Since then my car radio is forever detuning itself and blasting me with static.

I rather like owls actually; I’ve always thought their feather markings beautiful and I like the owls I have encountered in literature from a very early age (for example, Owl in Winnie the Pooh). I wonder at the animism that we project on / perceive in / inculcate in different creatures. It’s fascinating.

I don’t know what to make of it, but I’m definitely one of the “maybe-people”.
