I found it difficult to find a source on the monetary system in the Byzantine Empire. My luck changed over the weekend when I found what appears to be a lengthy dissertation titled, “The Economic History of Byzantium From the Seventh to the Fifteenth Century” published by Dumbarton Oaks Research and Library Collection Was…[Read more]

The point is what toxin were they carrying or accidentally carrying? Bioweapons in my mind have a whole new meaning if you believe that a virus is an exosome. In other words, we are being totally bamboozled by looking in the wrong direction. Could be an infectious bacteria, EASILY, but if you believe that we have been in the “look over here…[Read more]

SOCIAL PHYSICS: Opening a Champagne bottle by moving the cork is troublesome, sometimes messy, and often dangerous. Hold the cork firmly in one place and turn the bottle. It’s leverage.
Soon we may have to cope with a lot more unpleasantness. Think carefully about the easiest way to attack a problem and use leverage. A child, using l…[Read more] -

The same can be said for almost any news service in the world Bob…as you can see in what I wrote I offered two alternative ‘views’ on the article, and I’m sure there are many more. I posted it merely as ‘information’ not as a hard and fast belief on my part…time alone will tell if it has any accuracy and therefore validity 🙂

Whew…the best that can be done with most “information” available for mass consumption is deciphering the agenda or narrative being pushed and an occasional snippet of what’s really meant. The use of hyperbolic words are usually a key and extensively used more and more lately. And the intent seems to be to shock or pretent something is actually…[Read more]

Gemistos Plethon is a fascinating personality, author of hymns to the gods and an unusual cosmology giving prominence to Neptune. Which is understandable if you think that all organic life requires water…

Fantastic! Keep a record of your links somewhere Gabe. Just started law studies and I’m deeply interested in these histories. I have no idea where my studies will take me, but your interests seem align with mine and as you post, I’ll collect 🙂
Theology profoundly impacts the way the we think about law. For an explanation of this and more see Dr. Joseph p Farrell’s book God, History, Dialectic, and Opposition. In this book Farrell describes the differences between Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox theology. He explains how st. Augustine’s dialectical formulation of the doctrine of…[Read more]

Try searching for “Byzantine coins/coinage” too.
I have tried searching for Byzantine coinage, but those books narrowly focus on Byzantine coinage while ignoring everything else.
