Sadly, my impression of The Old Fiend is that it has been rapidly Americanized, and hence, has been badly bowdlerized and overrun with the same PC nonsense as here. So Buttigieg’s association with Pembroke doesn’t surprise me.

This particular book has been a problem, because when I first started on it last year, it grew and grew like topsy and was unwieldy. I think the method I chose to approach all this has worked to pare it down to workable length, but whether it remained coherent is another matter.

The information is probably more important than its coherency. The later we can probably put together, just fine. And will probably have some decent questions to fill in any gaps later.
