Just a little update to my News and Views: Mr. Putin has challenged Mr. Bidenenko to a live TV debate with no preparation… Gee… I wonder who would win that one?

What’s interesting to me is that most of this is not “modernism”, but a kind of “classicism” and “neo-classicism”, and I suspect that’s because it’s a campaign to get people to recognize “AI” art is just as good as a Rembrandt or a Velasquez or a Poussin or what have you. It isn’t… it is cold and sterile… a mere imitative formalism.…[Read more] -

Yea… Yea! The Italian version of my book, The Philosophers’ Stone, is out. They did a really nice job, particularly with the cover.

It sounds vaguely like the last line of the Pepi I Pyramid text. (see http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/pepi1text.htm). Ancient Egyptian would sound like ancient Hebrew in some cases.-
We cannot discount the dreamers. Those whose consciousness is undamaged enough to still receive messages should be given a hearing. Thank you for providing the space.

Thanks Acorn, for being open and supportive. I knew people here would be the right ones to ask!

Hi Dr. Farrell,
I’m trying to post this as a reply to you but I can’t get it to go in the correct space.
I loved that text with all its flattering pleadings! I’m imagining a different bribe to each god! Pepi1 must have been nervous!!It’s interesting that you found an incantation/poem because the words, Break the Bondage, came out…

Listening to the following cantata, and miss Shiloh decides to join in with the alto in a little canine sing-along, lol. She was “not in key” (Shiloh, I mean, not the alto). But it was a sweet moment:

Hello everyone. The weather is predicting storms for tomorrow’s fireside vidchat, and I’d rather not take the chance of power outages during the short chat, so I am moving the vidchat to TUESDAY MARCH 16th at 3PM. Thanks for your understanding!

I tend to agree about prospects for the short term. What is needed is some long term planning… or as C.A.F. says, if you’re not in a conspiracy then you need to start one. lol -

Interesting Scarmoge… I just finished my umpteenth reading of the anti-federalist papers, and may be blogging about them or at least, some of them. Dover publications put out a little collection of them in one of their $6.00 “thrift paper backs,” which edition I just read. I go back to them every now and then, because of their prescience…[Read more] -

I concur… I rely on an older version of the Oxford English Dictionary, Webster’s having been unreliable from the beginning.-
If the definition or actually description of the word does not include the etymology I don’t bother to read it.
-
… I agree. I use the 1903 Century Dictionary and either the 1898, 1903, or 1911 edition of the Imperial Dictionary. I just needed a quick and dirty confirmation of my usage. Imagine my surprise (not really) that the sentence example read as it did.
-
I had to use Webster’s and The Chicago Manual of Style since they were what my clients (book publishers) required.
-
I use a 1972 edition of the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary in two volumes, which I correct when necessary by comparison with a 1937 edition of Fowler’s Modern English Usage and a 1931 Edition of Fowler’s The King’s English. For French I use a 1948 Harrap, and for German, Italian and Spanish I use Cassell’s Dictionaries published in the…

I sent a request to Catherine regarding a postable physical copy (i.e. for neighborhood bulletin boards). It might save a few more lives.
-
She has it posted with a PDF option.
-
Thanks Justa, yes I found that today. 24 pages is a bit long to distribute physically. She has given me permission to alter as long as I state the alterations. God bless her soul.
They are working on a hand-out version; they have stated that they hope to have it available some time in April. In my area, I cannot wait that long. I will be…

I should have added, that the best performances of Wq 12, 23, and 31 are those of Miklos Spanyi… Wq 46 I prefer Andreas Staier
