Rommel, thanks for your input. I wound up getting the classic translation W. Rhys Roberts. It’s a short book, but it’s quite dense and requires a lot of rereading of passages. I’m only 15 pages into it. -

Thanks! I don’t know Greek, but I want to improve my speaking skills the old-fashioned way and someone on the forum recommended Aristotle’s Rhetoric, so I just want to make sure I don’t get a bad translation. I will look for the Loeb Classical Library. Thanks again! -

What’s the best (or a good) translation of Aristotle’s Rhetoric?
Thanks.

“Do you hear the people sing, singing the song of angry men? It is the music of a people who will who will NOT be slaves again! When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums, there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes!” -

“Fact checking” is another clever propaganda tool used to drive fake narratives. -

Oh, no! I wasn’t attempting to equate Bach with self-eugenics!But if you’re going to go out, you might as well go out like Edward G. Robinson did with some great music!

Hello Technomage,
Thank you very much for posting, Bach is always highly appreciated. Wish you a musically Baroque Sunday. -
Thankyou for posting this Technomage. I felt like Edward G. Robinson at the end of Soylent Green when he watches the video of the planet’s beauty.

Katie, you make good points. It’s very possible for a forum to be inundated with posts and material that take it in a direction that many members don’t want to go in. I’ve seen this happen on forums myself.I usually use the ignore feature on certain members if they constantly post material of no interest or what I consider to be contrary…[Read more]

I listened to Gigi on DJ a couple of years ago and it was one of the reasons I got turned off on DJ for regular viewing, although I think his interviews with other people (e.g. Dr. Farrell, Catherine Austin Fitts) and his non-new age broadcasts are very good.Regarding what should be posted here, I generally agree with Pi Poe that we should…[Read more]

It’s not about attacking anybody – it’s about defending the forum from what looks to me like a coordinated attack on the GDS egregore with nonsense woowoo posts and even worse, 3 new members who seem to know each other marketing Lynne McTaggart’s intention groups (I have no problem with Lynne, have many of her books). From where I am…

I absolutely agree Katie, well said.

I have not noticed the specific viewers promoting the intentions group your referring to. However, I have observed precisely the problem your describing with ufology and the alternative research field. Some people such as you and me genuinely desire to take action. We do not know exactly what it is we should do in the immediate term…

@joseph, can you recommend one or more good books on rhetoric? I’d like to improve my speaking skills the old fashioned way.
Thanks,

@joseph, what is one of the best CPE Bach “personal” pieces that showcase his prescience of musical trends of the centuries to come?
-
I can think of at least three: Wq 12 in F Major (all three movements, but particularly the 1st and the 3rd), Wq 46 (particularly the 2nd movement), and Wq 23… You can add the 1st movement of Wq 31 to that too. THere are more, but those will get you started.
-
Thank you!
-
I should have added, that the best performances of Wq 12, 23, and 31 are those of Miklos Spanyi… Wq 46 I prefer Andreas Staier

Thank you again and may I add “God Bless You!”

Thanks for this bit of information. Thorne was a good company, even if expensive. I think their standards are very high, but this connection to Big Pharma is disturbing. -
