Music and Zeitgeist. A mere few decades ago, millions of people were tapping their feet to these pieces, with lots of brass, muted percussion and funny lyrics.

LOL Joseph .. I don’t know what will make me laugh more .. the comments or the music .. LOL
It’s another … both / and .. moment ..-
PDQ Bach is the quintessential musical parody, satire, and comedy.
-
It’s SO bad and SO skewed .. you can’t help but laugh .. And what kind of symphony would have a kazoo? ..
I mean SERIOUSLY .. a kazoo!! .. I find it HYSTERICAL -
I have always adored Peter Schikele and his PDQ Bach “works”. A Victor Borge of the composer milieu.

New interview with Joseph at Forum Borealis. It’s entitled “The Hess Mess Enigma, and runs 1:20, Part 1 of 3.

I checked the youtube site — there is nothing.
-
The interview is at the Forum Borealis website.
-
I paid a membership fee and I think I have access to many more videos.
-
You mean MP3 files, there are no videos at the website.
-
Correct. Just recently had my membership approved and found a long list of goodies!

Wow! Part 1 is a whopper!

And for the hardcore PDQ Bach fan, let us not forget the world premier of The Abduction of Figaro (I was at this performance and you can hear me laughing in the first act)… fortunately, opera, as an art form, survived this disastrous assault, as did Hee Haw and ballet…

… and while we’re talking about PDQ Bach, who can forget the Grand Oratorio, the Seasonings? To quote Professor Schikele, “His plagiarism was limited only by his faulty technique…”

Happy Birthday to Peter Schikele, dogged discoverer of the “musical” works of PDQ Bach, the worst composer who ever lived:

Pray for Catherine. She is taking a lot of heat on Twitter. Her tweets are brilliant, clear and grounding. No surprise there. Some nasty folks have come after her. No doubt, our good thoughts on her behalf will help.

Hi folks, I’d be interested in your take on this by Paul Craig Roberts. http://thesaker.is/is-president-trump-a-traitor-because-he-wants-peace-with-russia/

I think “self” corresponds largely to what Joseph theologically defines as “person”. The soul is another issue…

Finally chapter seven is done…a very dark chapter, but one that, I think, readers will resonate with, especially as we’ve discussed a certain subject contained within it quite often in the vidchats. Two more chapters, and a wild, wacky, nutty and thoroughly personal appendix to go…
-
Wild and wacky huh, sounds like some high octane speculation coming down the pike.
Or maybe it could be a RANT, yeah a RANT…………………oh goodie !!!!!!!!!!!!!-
Ha! Not a rant, just a “sort of full disclosure” of just how “out there” my high octane speculations can be….
-
pre 2016 it would have been classified a ‘rant’ and a ‘conspiracy theory’…. Nowadays.. HOS(tm) seems to be quite Down to Earth Speculation..pretty much EVERY SINGLE conspiracy theory from the last 60 years… appears to have been true.. Im just waiting for Lizardmen to come out of the Moon to land on Flat Earth…(Im joking. I dont believe…[Read more]

Well folks, chapter seven is ALMOST done (a very DARK chapter), and I can see the end in site, only three more to go!!
-
Dr F.. you’re literally writing them faster than I can read them….. give us a chance to catch up 🙂 So…. DARK as in Dark Ages… or DARK as in… heavy hitting? (I’m still trying to guess the topic of the new book :))
-
Yes.
-
-
No matter how high my reading pile gets, your books jump the line and get read as quickly as I get them in my hands. That’s doubly true now that you’ve repeatedly been saying…. “it’s in the book” God Speed Dr. Farrell.

He admits that he is setting out to shock listeners, but there are some tidbits, such as the warning about Musk’s dangerous playing about with cobalt…

Well!!!! Thanks to Catherine Fitts who found out the name of that old comic who played a professor that babbled endless pseudo-academic nonsense! His name was Professor Irwin Corey, the “World’s Foremost Authority”, and here’s a clip:

Folks thanks to Daniel’s hard work the site is back up. I’m a day behind, so I am hoping to do News and Views much later today, begin next week’s blog scheduling tomorrow and have it done Saturday, and then get back to finish chapter 7 on Saturday and Sunday.

Winston, thanks so much for finding this one. It’s precious and gave me such a hearty belly laugh I darn near got a wet bottom. GeorgeAnn’s memory will always be a blessing as her interviews brought out the best in Dr. Farrell’s presentations of dark material for “newbies” such as I was years ago.

It was stuff that was happening prior to the beginning of the recording… I did something so stupid and absent-minded that it amazed even me, and if you know me well you know I can do some terribly stupid and absent minded things. So anyway, I was laughing at myself when George Ann started the show, and it made it that much worse.

And yes, the musicians were actually WELL DRESSED.
And they had real talent, too… (cough)… did I say that?
