This short paper helped me understand Affektenlehre (Doctrine of Affections) better.
https://batch.libretexts.org/print/url=https://human.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Music/Book%3A_Music_Appreciation_II_%28Lumen%29/10%3A_The_Baroque_Era_J._S._Bach/10.05%3A_The_Doctrine_of_Affections.pdfOne of the keys not listed is F; can someone tell me why? Thank you.
-
Thanks for that, very interesting.
-
Not to delve into too much musical theory, but the paper lists 14 separate keys. So “E flat major” and “E minor” and “E major” are three separate keys. When a musician says “the key of E” that’s just shorthand for “E major” specifically. So, this paper’s list is not just missing F major, but it’s also missing a whole bunch of other comm…

Thank you Dash. I dug a little further and found this document from Cedarville University. It’s list includes the key of F.

You’re very welcome PiPoe. Appreciate you sharing this new document, it’s a real gem. I’d say the list of keys included in this document is complete, as it lists 24 keys. There are 24 keys in the “circle of fifths” in music theory, the vast majority of all music is written in these 24 key signatures.

A quick add to the above. I just placed a seed order from two suppliers – both state a minimum of 30 day shipping delay. I also just read an article (behind a paywall so unable to post link) from a very reliable source warning of food scarcity hitting Europe first. -

Good tip – thanks (from a once and aspiring future gardener!).

Years ago I started my own seed bank. Do you realize you can store seeds indefinitely in your freezer? I easily germinate 10 year old seeds from my freezer every year. I joke about I rival that seed bank in Scandinavia. But that is the idea. Keep them cold! I buy seeds when I see them and double bag them in freezer bags. If I use some the…

I am interested in experimenting with a parabolic mirror. My interest lies in its possibility as an alternative tool. It may become part of a forming strategy.
In my view, ‘conspiracy’ only needs a simple yet compelling innately acceptable vision and a fortified resilient structure to be quite effective. I also think the actual details…[Read more]-
It might be interesting to start small with accessibly priced items and things like the classic experiments with germinating seeds and small plants as in pyramid experiments. That K. mirror formed by tall panels (diagrams on rexresearch) should, according to a fellow researcher, be proportioned according to golden number geometry. My guess…

I’ve been pondering the huge amount of zombie films and video games produced over the last few/several years; foreshadowing?

Yes the zombie meme has really become all pervasive. Its also interesting how prepping for a SHTF scenario was replaced by the normies as “prepping for a zombie apocalypse” . Zombie first person shooter games desensitize further leading to ???

Interesting. Charts like this also provide a good illustration as to how power and wealth are preserved through the centuries in addition to the establishment of political alliances. -

Yes, I agree – could be an interesting one. Does one of Dr. Farrell’s books speak to this? I’ve only had the opportunity to read two of his works so far and they really didn’t touch on this topic. It would be preferable to link the vidchat to one of his books.

I have been observing something of late – it seems there are swaths of the populace that are behaving less and less intelligently and other swaths whose cognitive abilities are noticeably increasing. Anyone else observing this? And if so, do you think it’s related to how they obtain their information?-
Something on the information field would make a good vidchat question.

Hear hear! I’ve noticed the exact same thing. Extrapolating that a snibben touch further, dumb people are getting dumber, smart people are getting smarter, and the fence is being pulled out from under those in the middle, effectively forcing them to “choose a side”. It’s like the parting of the “mental Red Sea.” That, of course, begs the…

I’m not out and about a lot, but I get the same impression from the few encounters I’ve had. It’s like there’s another form of polarization, besides the political: a more extreme division between those who are passive recipients of information and those who think for themselves. Where people get information, and how much they expose…
