I’ve reviewed a couple of books re WW2 in the past year. Neither does justice to the Soviet efforts. Can you recommend one?

May favorite history of the Eastern Front remains Paul Carrell’s Hitler Moves East, and Scorched Earth. They’re a bit dated now but they’re still very good and very detailed.

You can bet they had smart meters and cars with computers that relay information. One of the men who made it through the fires in an ancient truck left his smartphone behind and so his vehicle did not spontaneously combust like the others along the road he passed through. Definitely something to think about.

Haven’t had a box in the house for years.

Still have one hooked up to the stereo & AAPL tv for streaming.
Very convenient not being tethered to a tethered computer.
Stereo allows for listening while working outside.No “regularly scheduled programming.” 😉

I’ll have to rewatch it on my computer to see it on a bigger screen. To me, it looks like a camera mounted in a protective “bubble” to shield it from the elements. Looks like as the glare of the sun shifts, it’s refracting off of hairline cracks in the bubble.
….or it’s swamp gas, haha

I can see no worthwhile or virtuous use for this technology, not even in “entertainment.” Even in “entertainment” it’s yet another example of machines corrupting human culture and appropriating skills which humans have hitherto valued and respected. -

The whole issue of so-called irrational (non-decimal) numbers has to be reviewed, in ancient science these were considered as a sort of whole number, representing a proportion. Any conversion into their decimal approximation would have been considered a purely secondary issue.
I am sure a ‘DEAL’ can be worked out – behind the back of earth’s ruling class AND behind the back of the “High Council of many other ET humans in our Milky Way Galaxy” (these parties deserve each other!) – to alter the course of the asteroid 99942.
