Thanks for the pointer. I watched part of this video before, but I will watch it again with the Topological Metaphor in mind. I heard it explained once by Joseph and I resonated with the concept on a gut level. Will dig deeper.

We don’t keep our money in banks, only what is needed. My wife still remember well when The Soviet Union collapsed. Everything went away (Money, pension, insurance, everything) one night. Now, it’s different, but they still don’t trust banks or insurance companies. I’m ok with that 🙂

In Soviet Union you had a pension etc. + what you paid from your salary. Like we have it now in the west 🙂 It was not so different.

Though ostensibly bad (the “sultan” manages to insult just about everybody) relations are deep, with 4 million “German Turks” and their relative family networks in Anatolia. I would like to read some updated research on this but most unsurprisingly seems to be in German only.
