Back in the 1970s they were saying that by 2000 lots of islands in the world would be completely submerged. Not only has this not happened but new islands are emerging.

Have just received Dumbrill’sARCHAEOMUSICOLOGY OF THE ANCIENT NEAR EAST, large format, 500 pp., well illustrated, footnotes, bibliography, glossaries, index. Not cheap but intriguiging analysis of Mesopotamian civilization.
