My handwriting was deteriorated long before the computer age

My handwriting is pretty poor too. I used to struggle to read my father’s writing when I was a child and complained about it…. all these years later, when I compare our writing I see mine is much more illegible! I have the impression that most of the US political class is living (or being induced to live?) in a delusional state similar to the UK in the 1950s, hypnotised by the legacy of empire and sending troops here and there as if nothing had happened. But in the British case Suez proved to be a rude awakening.
