Is there anyone else still getting terrible audio quality on the News & Views, etc? I’ve been checking every time one is posted since the Nov 10 announcement that they were looking into the problem and it remains, at least for me. I literally can’t listen to them because there’s a terrible screechy/tinny quality to them, like nails on a…[Read more]

Can anyone explain to me this bit about “posting an inappropriate word”? It doesn’t say what it is, I’m not using foul language (yet!) and I can’t figure out what’s triggered it. Seems like we don’t have to go very far to encounter the language police, heh.
I’m just trying to post a thoughtful response to Guygrr’s great post.

I did. Both the Money &Markets and the interview with Joseph are very important imo. The interview in particular is a delight.

She responded to a comment by a subscriber that was concerned that she’s been dealing with this crap for years – I would not be surprised if it never really did stop after the litigation was concluded. I think she just got really exasperated this time. It’s not a bad idea to be public about it either, I don’t think. I remember her saying in an…[Read more]

    • The more all of this comes into the public domain, the faster any sort of intimidation will be shown to be ineffective and counterproductive

Cheetahs have non-retractable claws, like a dog. As for wheat, there’s a great book about what’s going on with wheat in the last 50 years and its effect on health called Wheat Belly. It’s well researched and quite sobering. And yes, modern wheat has opiate like effects.

First and most important: infants under 3 years old do not have a fully formed immune system and cannot cope with the challenge a vaccine poses. In my opinion NO child under 3 should get vaccinated for anything. As far as I know, tetanus vaccine has the same problems as all the others: heavy metals, a huge number of contaminants etc. I think…[Read more]

    • Thanks! We will keep our daughter (10 months) clean. I was just thinking Tetanus shot, because soon she starts playing outside and play with dirt etc.

      • Playing in the dirt doesn’t make one susceptible to tetanus. Getting a puncture wound, like walking barefoot and stepping on a nail is how you are exposed to tetanus. The type of soil is also relevant. Areas rich in manure, for example, are much more likely to include the bacteria. If your daughter suffers a puncture wound while playing…[Read more]

    • I vaccinated my son just before he started kindergarten. He was 5 and then I had him ‘catch up’ with his vaccines bit by bit. He wasn’t in a childcare centre or with other children, but was at home with me until he went to school.

Knitting pattern repeats is very rhythmic and soothing. Even though the blanket is huge breaking it into repeats makes me feel like progress is happening. I’m not very good at garments, but that’s okay – another day, another shawl (afghan, scarf, etc.)…

Another knitter! I love knitting and getting my mind well exercised listening to previous vidchats, news and views and whatever! I’m working on a cable and lace bed blanket, so it might just end up smarter than I am at the end with all the time it’s taking.

    • Lace knit is wonderfully intricate. I have it on my current work, around the wrists, collars and hemline. I knit when the television is on, even when we’re watching DVDs, though admittedly I put down the work when there’s an historical drama or documentary screening. Classical music and Dr Farrell’s VidChats, Dialogues and Webinar recordings…[Read more]

I feel the same way! I do have to say that both Dr. Farrell and Daniel have the most gracious way of inviting us to step up to their level of knowledge which feels so encouraging to me. I always feel so good while listening to be able to at least track the conversation even though I might not have the background and facts. And I learn so much! I…[Read more]

Good news! According to the Solari Money & Markets report of 12/2 the Virtual Pipe Organ website will be up next week. Apparently all of the principal people working on it went down with the flu one after the other, ouch. Can’t wait!

Is there a vidchat this Friday? I don’t see one posted on the schedule and peeked at the Facebook page, but didn’t find an update there.

I’ve been thinking about it since I saw this yesterday. I like the idea of “free media” for several reasons: it’s easy and catchy, it hearkens to the First Amendment and it’s very clear and distinct from “corporate media” etc.

I’m listening right now – glad it’s public, some very important points being made.

Thanks for doing all that work – that’s what it takes to make sense of all of the data dumps. If folks like you didn’t do the work it would just sit there in potential instead of being deployed.

@tim-h This is my Scottish Fold Lily. She has a very round presence, though never fat – even her toes are cushy and round.
