Dunno about names. Maybe she is a he. Dunno yet. First words will probably be the 549 and some Buxtehude (a little spitfire of a fugue of his I used to play).

I’m thinking now, more a he than a she. “Bruno” seems an appropriate name.

When I attribute personhood to a piece of machinery, like a car etc, I don’t usually think of a specific sex. I more think of it as just being a “dear friend.” Or in some cases an “old friend.” 🙂

I don’t know whats going on over at Forum Borealis, but a few weeks ago I put up a post here saying that they had put up an apology and that they would be returning to a normal schedule shortly. Composers: parents and stepchildren. I distinctly heard the Canadian national anthem (supposed to have be composed by Lavallé in 1880). It’s one of the violin sonata Op. 5 Ns. 1-11.

We’re fortunate to have La Follia Austin Baroque and I enjoyed their recent Saturday afternoon concert with 2 performers on 4 beautiful harpsichords (2 Italian, 1 Franco-Flemish, 1 French) playing Buxtehude, Couperin, Rameau, and several Bach family pieces. Mostly an older audience but a few young people and children too 😉

There is the one (and only, IMO) reason for living in Austin. Fabulous Margaret! Ihave to contend with her parents. What I did do is give my grandson Rules for Argument. I’m advising develop an argument for alternative points of view as an intellectual exercise. My granddaughter will take a debate class this year. That should help.

Debate class? There are a few books around on how to argue a case and to detect and counter false arguments (such as when people, instead of replying on what you say, reply with personal labelling (e.g. “if you say that it means that you are a…”)

I’m very grateful for every single member on GDS! Anytime I get to feelin’ blue or lonely, all I have to do is pick up an old Vidchat and that apparent cloud of isolation dissipates. The internet can be so very toxic, but here I’ve found hearth and home. Thank you everyone!
