I read that book and it reminded me of my own owl encounter. Bit of an involved story, but what was strange was that the next day my neighbor told me that she had seen an owl perched on the roof of my car. Since then my car radio is forever detuning itself and blasting me with static.

If I recommended to you reading Spare I might be accused of stretching the “devil’s membrane” too far.

Transgenderism, the Tarot and the Suffragettes; some wild thoughts.
The English occultist and artist Austin Osman Spare was a friend of and fellow RCA student with Emily Pankhurst between 1902 – 1906.
Spare is somewhat notorious for his various depictions of the Pandrogyne, and Pankhurst is celebrated for her promulgation of political…[Read more]-
I don’t know about Pankhurst but Annie Besant, who led the Theosophical Society in its post-Blavatsky phase, certainly shared the themes of “women’s rights”. Recommended reading: “The Theosophical Enlightenment” by Joscelyn Godwin, a cultural history starting from the original, less famous 18th century Theosophers, going on to Illuminism and…[Read more]

Emmeline Pankhurst’s daughter was very Eugenically minded.. apparently.. which, if true, would be funny seeing her mother’s views on Germans..

You can’t manage it using a closed system; you need a multidimensional cache. This might mean that sufficiently vast amounts of data in the cache could become self-organizing (autonomous) and thereafter possibly sentient. I think the Gnostics understood this when they wrote about the Aeons. To build such a multidimensional cache might require…[Read more]

When Neil Armstrong descended the ladder of the LEM in July 1969 as he set foot upon the moon he uttered the famous phrase “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind”. What we heard was the phrase without the indefinite article “a”. Apparently there was a break in the transmission which gave us the incomplete version of this…[Read more]

I remember something else about those novels by Cixin; in one incident one of the protagonists is playing a Trisolaran virtual reality game. It involved assembling an army of men to simulate a computational process informed by Von Neumann architecture. The aim of the game was glean information about reality manipulation from the unwitting gamers.…[Read more]

(I have tried six times to post this little paragraph, and I was told I was using an inappropriate word – its a bit frustrating because I had to completely re-word my post, which had nothing wrong with it in the first place….)
Sounds like the movie “Ender’s Game”, where the children think they are playing a war game, but it is in fact a reality.…[Read more]

I posted a reply about Dyson Spheres but it has since disappeared.
Perhaps I’m being edited ?
In any case I want to mention the LHC As far as I recall whenever Dr.Farrell writes about the LHC he talks about two accelerators being involved in the creation of a torsion event which he believes might have effects upon our Sun. ( I stand to be…[Read more]-
Hi Baz – here is your ‘lost’ post which came to my inbox this morning – can’t think how it got deleted :

“Fascinating.
