Just finished my first read-through of ______ and the _____. Much to my surprise, it wasn’t the horrifying mess I thought it was, but it’s still a mess.

If I may aliken the process to creating a painting, you often find that close up it seems messy.. you have to take 3-5 good steps back then, look again. 🙂 But thats for paintings. not books.

Im finishing my first book. It started out to be 325 pages, my editor threw it in a wood chipper. We (I) started “pairing it down.” Advice; Don’t write a book, it can send you to the rubber room. It took me another year to get it down to around 180/200 pages.

That sculpture in the opening photograph of the article reminds me of the many sculptures done by Helen Martins (deceased) in Nieu-Bethesda, a small town in South Africa’s eastern cape. Actually their is group that would want that, although they are small and people don’t take them seriously. Puerto Rico was a State of Spain prior to the Spanish American war. Just joined.
I will never catch up with Dr. Farrell’s work!
I’m working my way through a stack of 12 of his books, that is when I’m not on YouTube listening to his numerous interviews.
I hope I can hear his music some day.

Ugh… of ALL the “difficult crunch” chapters in ALL my books thus far, this chapter of ______ and the ______ is by far and away the most difficult of them all… I continue to slog through it and hope it ends up making SOME kind of sense of a massive mess… yet is not so “tidy” that one loses the sense of what a massive mess it is.
