I stumbled upon an old interview with Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt about the problems with our education system. She wrote a book almost 20 years ago “the deliberate dumbing down of america” which traces the history of public education. She has a website http://www.deliberatedumbingdown.com and a free pdf of the book is available. It will take me…[Read more]

Similar, this is a cymatic useage for moving ferrofluid. The chest attachable speaker would have to very (looking for the right word) quiet, almost or totally imperceptible to the patient. My reason for keeping it “quiet” from the patient is that it needs to be totally internalized and not have smearing by the patients mind. (However, the mind may…[Read more]

I guess they are repeating the patterns of speech, hence an accent. We are fast speakers, sometimes I have to tone it down, depending on the circumstances. The other thing, fascinating to me, is the future of English in Puerto Rico and how the language is going to develop. There is a phenomena that is unique in PR, there are more Puerto Ricans…[Read more]

It’s very interesting how language is learnt. My husband is Italian but learnt English as a young child so has no accent at all, just that of a native speaker of South African English. I learnt French in high school for five years (along with Afrikaans – 12 years – and Zulu – 3 years), whenever I come across a foreign Latin-based language my…[Read more]

Thanks Kenny. That is quite a different brand of Spanish, I only understood a few words of it! . . . . Languages are so interesting. Over the years I’ve learned French, Italian, Spanish, and German and speak each with varying degrees of proficiency, and find it easy to move into the accent of that language . . . but when stumped for a word in…[Read more]

Teaching my two Irish American nephews the Spanish language. These kids have so much energy, an Irish-Puerto Rican nuclear reactor. They are learning so fast and already getting an accent.
I am fascinated by it, because I can control form and grammar, but not the accent. Leaving that to them, to figure it out. Is almost an alchemical process.…[Read more]

Kissinger evokes Thatcher to ask and answer geopolitical questions. Hm. What does he seek to channel from the time of Thatcher?
http://www.voltairenet.org/article197404.html-
Well Mrs. T. accelerated the process of eliminating actual making of things of Britain to replace it with the financial “industry” – a process that the British oligarchies are rather timidly seeking ways to reverse as the population slips into poverty and conflict…

Envy perhaps that he will never be given a ti tle of nobility by the Queen??

Perhaps in his advanced years he would like his life’s work ennobled?

Back in the good ol’ days where Pinochet was heralded as a friend to England.. (probably for saving the Nazi’s hiding out in Argentina when the Mossad turned up in Bariloche…)
