Hey again Jacob & good evening,
Well, we’ll soon find out if they all incorporate and form a union of their own. By the way, the Empire has been empirical for quite a long time and needless to say, they always had a corporate streak.

Hi PiPoe,You have a way about you, the ability to instil security, with simple grace. “If we grasp onto each others hands” a phrase which reminded me just now of my father, he would grab onto people hands and ease them out of their momentary insecurity and into a dance. It is a childhood memory which brought his scent of ‘Brut’ cologne to…[Read more]

Hey Billy Bob,
Scientists “knowing” after the fact would be an act of admission, whereas “thinking” . . . Well, scientists simply think of many things, so by “thinking” they can get away with many blundered thoughts. -

I always find curious articles with phrase, “What scientists previously thought”. Rarely is found the phrase, “What scientists previously knew”.

Fallibilism it would seem is a necessary component of thinking in the manner of a scientific intelligence. C. S. Peirce had quite a bit to say about its role in scientific thinking (Peirce had in mind something VERY different from the scientistic thinking that masquerades as science). Perice meant by fallibilism that “people cannot attain…

Such thinking (though it is but the quintessence of common sense) would require an acknowledgment of one’s own imperfection. The odds on that?
-
Hello FiatLux and good evening to you,
i am admittedly the most multilaterally imperfect flawed human being i have come across in all the years of my travels. As such, i acknowledge not only my shortcomings but the overextension of my enthusiasm – to never give up despite failure after failure in this quest of my life long adventure . .…

i dont know if it was the same article, i had never actually read the one Dr. Farrell mentioned. Hi Lurking Learner,
i am starting to think that this latest move from NYSE has very little to do with imposed tax on stock transfers, and more with why the NASDAQ and other markets are looking to move to a much higher elevation in Texas, away from the coastline . .-
Maybe the CME will consider relocating to South Dakota next.
-
hey Lurking Learner,
For some reason, the whole gaggle of the markets, derivatives and all have their eye on Texas. But since you mention it, why South Dakota?-
Just joking mostly but SD is a well run state with conservative leadership and no state income tax. In that regard it’s similar to TX and the possible NASDAQ move.
