China looking to South America… I wonder how their win-win approach will go with all the factions embedded there?
“China’s Belt and Road Initiative reaches ever further around the globe.First launched as the “new Silk Road” to reignite centuries-old economic relations with Central Asia, it was soon extended to include a somewhat less h…[Read more]

In the past, China and India favoured monetary silver; the British managed to drain a lot of silver, especially in India by manipulations of the rupee. As the above article states, Asia seems to have benefitted from the silver road much more than Spain: Spain frittered away most of their wealth on military and naval expenditure (sounds familiar)…[Read more]

Is a UK power faction behind the recent US-India overtures? This article makes me think perhaps so…
“India is the third-largest source of foreign direct investment into the U.K., behind the U.S. and France. There are more than 800 Indian companies in Britain, employing nearly 110,000 people, according to a study by accountants Grant Thornton f…[Read more] -

Been travelling and not posted for a while. This is an interesting view of the latest Saudi developments:
“There is another more positive scenario about the crackdown on saudi princes and the removal of an anti-Syrian PM in Lebanon.Saudi Arabia has publicly blamed Qatar for supporting Islamist terrorists. In return Qatar was about to make p…[Read more]

I’m not the biggest fan of Chris Knowles and his blog. He does draw fascinating inferences and is good at finding links by association but at the end of his blog posts I’m usually left thinking “and so?”. There’s something missing and “empty at the centre” about them to me…. almost like a kind of postmodernist esotericism/o…[Read more]

Nicholas Carr has been saying so for a very long time. I used to read his blog very regularly but stopped doing so because it made me very unhappy:

I put that into Google translate and got “paralytic follicular” …. am I missing something?
-
Google translate works good only for the “big” languages. I sometimes use Finnish-English or Finnish-Russian Google translation and get totally terrible and sometimes very funny translations.
-
Ha ha hah- yeah, I’m a terrible speller in Greek , English, German, Italian , Spanish and Japanese . I was spelling in grekish -my own phonetics. The translation was meant to convey” My pleasure or you’re welcome my friend” (feminine)’. Mi dispiache amici.

Longish commentary on geopolitical order…. raises a couple of interesting questions
http://russia-insider.com/en/china-russia-alliance-does-not-have-be-threat-west/ri21331-
When my eye first fell onto the sentence I read “longish comedy” – but perhaps Russian media is not yet quite up to satire on the antics of the Chinese oligarchs.
-
I don’t know about the military alliance… they have a good relationship but they are not best friends and there are some issues. But who knows…

Interesting little story… Russia is DONATING some military equipment to the Philippines.

Interesting… The Const1tution stops them from spending MORE on military than they do on education..

Well that explains why the equipement was ‘DONATED’..

What kind of thinking / consciousness results when these fundamentals a…[Read more]
