I saw a story on that awhile back; sent to JPF. I thought it stunning–and very alchemical, with the merging of mineral and plant. Now, assuming this tech works, think a few steps ahead: How long before the decorative foliage in smart cities is equipped with sensors that alert the police when someone walks by who is… oh, I don’t know……[Read more] -

Another option is a cistern (though I hear some localities don’t allow collecting rainwater, for some reason). If the next place I live has a big enough backyard, you can bet I’m putting in something to collect rainwater, even just 10-20 gallons for a little extra in an emergency.-
I grew up in a house built in 1848 and we had use cisterns gathering roof water in the ground. We had a well for drinking water. In spring, my mother would pour bleach into them to kill the red worms that no doubt lived in the ancient sludge at the bottom- they were thin and wriggly in the bath water if it wasn’t hot enough. You got used…

Maybe those may be the little wiggly things that show up every once in awhile in the exposed tank on my Water Pic teeth flosser? Sometimes I go to use it and there are little swigglies swimming around. Now I use fresh water before each use.

RB – I agree you make a point that’s food for thought… On the other hand, I’m not sure the EU is much of an obstacle to Mr. Globaloney. The EU has managed to put members of the international pirate crew in charge of countries (Italy, Greece) and has made great strides in breaking down democratic rule (redoing or ignoring national…[Read more]-
True.
I’m going on the premise that they’re going to be broken up by design. The plan being to flood these unions[US EU] w/ illegals until they burst from cultural rebellions.
Many of the so-called nation state leaders; are, in reality internationalists.
In that since, the nations states in the EU and the EU are virtually one. The problem…-
Yeah, breakup by design–that could well be the plan…

Great way to organize electricity provision, eh? Good grief… Is there an industry left that hasn’t been screwed up by consolidation, financialization, and globalization??-
Too many desperate greedy MBA’s willing to do what ever it takes to make the bottom line look good.

Wasn’t the idea behind MBA’s that it would help people become entrepreneurs? And aren’t most successful businesses run by people without an MBA??

Good question…It’s a tangent, but I wonder if there were stories like this of heroic efforts to bring homeless or otherwise heat-less humans into convention centers to raise their core temperatures before they went into hypothermia. Well, no matter–it’s just humans. Part of the “excess population,” as our Malthusian masters would say.…[Read more]

I’d say “Wow!!” in sheer and utter disbelief, but at this point, it would be redundant. I wonder if the “journalists” producing this swill know they’re writing from American Pravda, or are they so delusional that they believe their own propaganda? -

A billionaire funding BLM-style critical social justice?! Shocked, I tell you… positively shocked! 😉
Funny how the white male plutocracy takes such a loving interest in groups hellbent on dismantling white capitalist blah-blah-blah patriarchy, no? Truly bizarre. That would be like bankers funding a bunch of communist revolutionaries! Oh, w…[Read more] -

Maybe a person has to experience, or have recent exposure to, analog music (or analog anything else) to appreciate/remember how different it is from its digital simulacrum. Fewer and fewer analog experiences are occurring. Then there’s always going to be a fraction of the population without the ability to perceive the richness of an analog…[Read more]-
Yes. And speaking of the “richness” aspect, I was looking into how pixels are created – it is number based. https://web.stanford.edu/class/cs101/image-1-introduction.html
and that led me to ‘tonal colour’ or timbre – quite interesting (this article breaks out the different timbre employed during the different music… -
Yes, FiatLux, and well said. I say it to people all the time – if there is an audio show nearby where you live, go to it! Yeah, there will be a lot of digital and WiFi stuff there, but the analogue and tube-based product is worth putting up with the rest! There is a big analogue revival in the audio world and it will blow your ears into the…

Hi Fiatlux and hope you are well,
I can close my eyes at anytime and clearly hear the crackling of the vinyl record, it’s warmth ~ which enveloped the whole room as if a cotton candy mist blanket had fallen over everything, and all this imagery just from recalling a childhood memory. This plush sound was almost or very similar to the b…

Funny, I just sent a rant to someone about this very topic of film photography! Here is a little clip from that rant, “…I’m so fed up with digital everything! To me, life was more enjoyable when we put vinyl on a turntable and loaded film into a camera. When taking analogue pictures with film, you not only needed to know how to take the p…

Hey toddb,
I you are so right, i haven’t experienced those simple pleasures myself in so long, right now it seems like several lifetimes ago, thank you for the reminder. I really need to find some film although i do not know where i can get Kodak Ektachrome at this point in time or if they even make it anymore. I still have my 35mm film…

Do many people take the warning labels and “fact checkers” seriously? Actually, how anyone can take any statement from FB, YT, or the Blue Bird as anything but propaganda or obfuscation is beyond me.-
I have family who believe EVERYTHING from CNN and FB and all the rest. They dutifully wear their masks outdoors and are getting their gene modification treatments. They trust authority. And there are lots of people just like them where I live.
It’s rather disheartening.-

Did you see this one? Some info on only a fraction of adverse events being reported (though I don’t think there’s data on what proportion of events are estimated to be minor vs. severe here):
https://truthsnitch.com/2017/10/24/cdc-silence-million-dollar-harvard-project-charged-upgrading-vaccine-safety-surveillance-system/-
… Gee, ya think. Underreporting of data concerning adverse outcomes from Rick’s Global Combination Vaccination Clinic, Night Club, and Casino. Shocked, shocked I tell you!

Thanks for posting that. So that 653 number is closer to 65,300 deaths. The post I did earlier about the email and video on FAQ about the vaccine, from my doctor’s health group, was that people 65 and older can now sign up for the vaccine. Social security comes to mind, for some strange reason.

I printed out the paperwork as a request from a guest today so they could get their second shot in Hildago County Texas. The couple is over 65 so they qualify. Managed to keep mum as we already had a discussion when they went and received the first one. Don’t imagine I’ll see them next season.

I always suspected that in the U.S. the government would let the private sector do the compelling and enforcing. I predict an informal economy will grow up among people who need things done and don’t care if a service provider or worker wears a mask / is vaxxed or not–at least, I hope so.-
Yup, that’s what I’m hoping for, just gotta survive until then.

Best wishes in the meantime!

I’m sure you’re racking your brain for solutions. Have you assessed the full complement of skills and talents you have? even those you haven’t fully developed? Somewhere in that big bucket of goodies there is opportunity waiting I bet.
Hugs to you Mr. Ken.-

This was always going to happen, but I’m still very sad to see it. One way or another, there will be a pushes for no jab, no work; no jab, no government assistance (unemployment, disability, job seeker’s allowance, whatever it may be); no jab, no travel; no jab, no entry (to shops, hospitals, office buildings, you name it).-
I think what got to me most about the BBC article is just how obsequious the reporting is. The BBC has been awful for a long time but with Covid it has gone full-Pravda. The opening position of the article is that this is legal…the tone that this is an obvious good. The UK has fallen a long way with Covid and unfortunately I suspect we are…
