I imagine it’s also possible that the web hosting service, if it’s shared web hosting for instance, can’t always keep up with the traffic. In any case, I’m 99.999% sure the disappearances are tech glitches rather than anything deliberate.

I’ve learned to write a longer post in a word program first, then paste it into the What’s New box. Cuts down on the frustration of re-typing it again.

Yes, FiatLux, I have noticed it too and I think your observations of it being a bit more subtle are spot on. It’s military 101 – blend in – appear to be like everybody else and then gradually do your work from the inside. It would seem necessary these days because the outward troll options aren’t working well these days.

Yes I have… and I’ve had to ban a couple in recent months.

I appreciate everyone’s feedback, as I am aware of my own ability to be less than objective, like anyone else, and I think it can sometimes be hard to know who’s commenting in good faith and who isn’t on any open online platform.
