Horrible and frightening indeed.

To be honest, with an artificial human baby, I think it can fool me, except maybe, just maybe, when it blinks and its eye pupils don’t dilate. However, I think when it comes to an adult human/artificial interraction, I am sure that there will be…[Read more] -

My favourite movie. Though old, it still tugs the heart strings.

Thank you Freefall. One of my relatives has an incredible gift with difficult horses too. Injured animals always end up at her house and they calm down when sheβs treating them. One time when working on a clients garden, she disturbed a brown snake. they stared at each other for a short while and he just moved Away. My son was in shock as h…[Read more]

True Shamus. When he became President of the U.S. I was very relieved. Perhaps he is keeping these people close to keep a watch on them. I don’t think Haley has much power other than being a spitfire with a microphone. Trump has a method, and it’s almost perceptible in the whirlwind of his chaotic behaviour, but it’s there. It’s a fine thread…[Read more]

This is very much missing in our modern lives. Lucky them. I wish we had an English speaking Orthodox Christian church nearby, I’d be in it every weekend π

Agreed, but don’t forget those with whom he keeps company.

Who could possibly forget, with psychos and dingbats like John Bolton and Nikki Haley as his hires? One thing I’ve learned is that Trump is utterly unpredictable, but regardless his crass behavior and language and his inscrutable strategy, the picture in hindsight looks better than some previous presidents—so far…

When I studied the piano, I always played a Chopin piece to finish off the practice. It seemed to me that the piano was incomplete without him. He was also one of my mother’s favourite composers, and like you, when I now listen to some of his pieces, I’m reminded of the way she would quietly hum to his hauntingly beautiful melodies. The Poet of…[Read more]

More on the octopus. The 10th man new thinking …
-
Interesting:
(1) DNA of octopus is stable (no “evolution”)
(2) DNA of octopus comes with initial RNA program — l
(3) RNA of octopus is reprogrammed from its original setting — for adaptation
From which I could conclude
DNA may be stable because the octopus lives deep in the ocean waters (no UV light)
or because the RNA can make up for fixed…[Read more]

– your’e the white cow (ok white bull) because it takes one white cow (bull) to refute that all cows are black. You said “man is the root of evil.. no man, no evil” and you’re the one that refutes your own quote.
I think I’ve now muddled myself …

I don’t think Prince Harry is Prince Charles’s son. I think he is Princess Diana’s and James Hewitt’s son, and that is another reason the Queen was able to allow this marriage to proceed. Since he can never be King, a marriage to a black woman doesn’t matter. What matters most nowadays is the message they’re sending out about modernising the…[Read more]

I watched the wedding of course, since I AM a royalist at heart. Three things annoyed me about this one though: the gospel singing, the black man’s evangelist preaching, and the Mass that should have been a traditional High Mass. These things do not belong in an English Royal Wedding.
My suspicion about Miss Markel is that she is a CIA…[Read more]

Yes though being a good actress she didn’t even PRETEND to be just a wee bit nervous at any time during the extenuating events (this would have made her seem more human). Anyway, somebody in the British oligarchy knows who she “really” is. [And we don’t, apparently, even really know with certainty who Obama is, despite 2 terms.]
-
I agree that the soul music was quite incongruous in the setting, almost forced; more than a “homage to the bride” it seemed like part of the current “political correctness” mania, driven by the social engineering that everybody can see but few seem to be discussing.

“the black man’s evangelist preaching” The brother bishop from the Anglican church in America appeared to be the only believer at the wedding. The eye-rolling and smirking congregants should have kept themselves in check.

They cant help it. Their faces are unable to show any expression other than scorn. It’s part of the training, like charm school for ‘Royals’.

BlueWren, at this point, I dont think there is any difference between the CIA, FBI, or MI5, MI6, or the Yakuza.

I feel like I’m watching a sci-fi film! What about aging? Trade it in for an older model? Also, I do wonder if human emotions could influence it . . . could they be transferred to the ‘robot’, eventually animating or ‘humanizing’ it?
